Design an Antenna (Half-Wave Dipole)


Matlab is one of the easiest software for designing and analyzing Antennas. Software like HFSS where you have implement all parameters manually in 3D, adding ground plate, defining boundary conditions etc.. 

In Matlab it is like adding variable and constant values and that it. How about designing an Antenna here lets assume some conditions.

Design Parameters:

  1. Frequency = 3965 kHz 
  2. Angular Steps can be no larger than 0.25 degrees 
  3. Far-field condition is assumed true in all cases 
  4. We will only consider radiation patterns in the x-y plane.

Center Feed Point:

  • 10Ax+10Ay

Orientation:

  • Taking 'x' Direction Orientation

Drive Currents:

  • Antenna: 3 Amps

Results:

  • Antenna Pattern
  • Radiated Power and Radiated Resistance (Four Antennas)
  • Electric Field Intensity
